CAWP facilitates visit with Congresswoman Melissa Hart

The Constructors Association facilitated the visit of Congresswoman Melissa Hart to the Carpenters Open House on Friday, May 5, 2006.  The Congresswoman joined CAWP Executive Director Rich Barcaskey, along with CAWP Board Members Charles Niederriter of Golden Triangle Construction and Ken Wolf of Mekis Construction Corporation in a tour the Carpenters Apprenticeship Site at Neville Island. 

Jack Brooks, Carpenters Executive Secretary Treasurer; Ray Vogel, Carpenters Training Director; Robert Gibson, Carpenters Heavy Highway Training Coordinator; and Mike Welsh, Carpenters Council Representative, greeted the Congresswoman and showed the state of the art training site. 

CAWP works closely with Congresswoman Hart to promote her legislative priorities, which include:

* promoting economic development through rebuilding local infrastructure
* utilizing her position on the House Jobs Action Team to strengthen efforts to grow the local economy
* reducing the tax burdens on individuals and businesses that provide jobs for the district
