On Thursday, May 4, 2006, the Construction Legislative Council (CLC) presented Art Prado, past CAWP Executive Director, with a Dedicated Service Award at the CLC Dinner.
The CLC is a multi-discipline coalition of construction industry employers. The Council serves the legislative concerns of Construction Contractors, Architects, Engineers and Material Suppliers form Western Pennsylvania who are engaged in commercial, industrial, institutional, heavy/highway and utility construction.
The CLC started in the 1970s and Art was on hand for the initial discussions of the concept. He has served on the CLC since the beginning, and served as President of the organization in the 1990s.
Art helped lead on issues that were important to the highway construction industry and cooperated with other Council members on issues that were important to them. He has testified before the state transportation commission for at least twenty years, served on the Southwest Pa. Planning Commission, co-chaired the Governor's Transportation Transition Committee, and was involved in the successful passage of the past six highway revenue increases.
