During the CAWP 2006 Annual Golf Outing, YCF Past Chairman Dennis Watkins presented John McCaskie, AGC Highway Bridge Committee Member with a check in the amount of $2,000 for the AGC Scholarship.
This year as a charitable activity, the Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania (CAWP) YCF sold over 1000 Highway Work Zone T-Shirts to promote safety and to raise money for a good cause. In selling these T-Shirts, the YCF raised over $1000 dollars to donate to the AGC Construction Accident Victims Educational Scholarship. AGC created this Scholarship to benefit children of construction workers that are killed as a result of accidents on construction work sites. In addition, a matching donation of $1000 dollars was made by former Pittsburgh Steeler, Todd Kalis, who is the current President of the Pittsburgh chapter of the NFL Alumni Association and Vice President of the Advisor Group, an Associate member of CAWP. Todd recently became aware that this Scholarship benefits children, which supports the NFL Alumni Association’s motto “Caring for Kids”.
