RE: National Work Zone Awareness Week
CAWP to Participate in Work Zone Awareness Week April 2-8
The Eighth annual National Work Zone Awareness Week will be held April 2-8, 2007. The National Work Zone Awareness Week was started by the Federal Highway Administration in 2000, and is supported by a large network of government and industry partners. The focus of the national campaign is to highlight the dangers to workers and motorists when driving through construction work zones.
The Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania is once again working in conjunction with the Associated Pennsylvania Constructors to spread the word on Work Zone Awareness. CAWP is asking contractors to help increase this public awareness campaign by placing Variable Message Signs (VMS) along roadways alerting motorists to the issue and hopefully heightening their awareness.
The message provided for this year’s campaign is as follows:
First Flash: Second Flash:
Be Alert Workzone
Slow Down Safety
Stay Safe Week
CAWP will recognize those contractors who participate by inserting company names and photographs into a CAWP newsletter and press release articles.
This Safety Bulletin may be downloaded at www.cawp.org under SAFETY. If you have any questions, please call the Association office at (412) 343-8000.
