ROAD TO THE FINAL FUNDING OPTION

House Transportation Committee Chairman Joe Markosek (D-Allegheny) announced the unveiling of a website this week to keep the public informed about state transportation issues. 

The site, www.pahouse.com/yourturnpike, specifically focuses on the proposed leasing of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and other potential public-private partnerships.  In a press release issued by his office, Markosek said: '"If we are to move forward in this process, we must do so with full disclosure.

The most important question we must ask ourselves is, 'What is the best deal for you -- the taxpayer?'  I hope the public will be an active partner with me in pursuing an answer to this question."'  The website includes proposed transportation legislation, reports and studies and news stories.
