The advertisement will run on 102.5 WDVE on the following dates and times:
Sunday, August 26, 2007- between 6-7pm
UPDATE Thursday, August 30, 2007- between 6-7pm
Once the regular season begins, CAWP will be running this advertisement before and after the Steelers games, as well as on Fox Sports Radio 970 AM on Mondays during the Monday Night Quarterback Show (7-9PM), and on Tuesdays during the Steelers Rewind Show (7-9PM). There will also be a link to CAWP’s Interested in a Career in Construction website page on the Everything Steelers webpage, which can be accessed via DVE.com.
The goal is to drive those who are interested in a career in construction to the CAWP website, which contains information on the union apprenticeship programs including the necessary contact information. The message will be altered as the season comes to a close and the apprenticeship programs prepare to advertise their application periods. Applications are accepted in early to mid-January.
The Association explored several different sources to advertise the need for qualified workers for the heavy and highway construction industry. The Steelers Radio Network was chosen for the following reasons:
• The Steelers Radio Network broadcast range covers the majority of the 33 counties of western PA; from Warren County to Greene County and from Lawrence County to Centre County.
• On game day, 44% of Steelers fans listen to game day coverage on the radio at home and 54% listen while driving in their cars.
• 46% of adults 18+ turn down the sound on their TV during the game and listen to the Steelers Radio Network broadcast.
• 67% of the audience is comprised of adults 18-49.
• 40% of the listeners are women and 17% are minorities.
The Association will measure the effects of these advertisements by analyzing the number of hits on its website and the number of calls received by the apprenticeship programs.
