CAWP Awards Funds for Diesel Retro-fit Project

Last week, CAWP notified those Contractor Members who will be receiving funds from the Association’s Diesel Retrofit Project. The approximately $925,000 in funds will be utilized to repower engines, upgrade engines, or install diesel particulate filters on at least 28 pieces of off-road diesel equipment owned and operated by CAWP member contractors.

In early January, the Association held an informational meeting and conference call to explain and answer any questions regarding the application and project. Shortly after, the Association began receiving applications for the program.

CAWP was one of two AGC chapters to successfully obtain funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program. The CAWP Diesel Retrofit Project aims to reduce diesel emissions on off-road diesel equipment operated in western Pennsylvania.
