CAWP Board wins AGC PAC Award

On March 17th at the AGC National Convention in Orlando, Florida, CAWP received two awards in recognition for the Association’s support of the Associated General Contractors of America Political Action Committee (AGC PAC). The first award recognized the 100% participation from the Board in the AGC’s 2009 Chapter Board Competition.

The Association also received a second award of special recognition for raising the most money of any AGC Chapter in 2009. AGC PAC Chairman Sam Hunter remarked at the awards ceremony that “this is the second year in a row that the Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania has been recognized for raising the most money for the AGC PAC.”

The AGC PAC is an essential part of our legislative influence on Capitol Hill. The goal of AGC PAC, which was established in 1977, has always been to give contractor members a collective voice in the election of federal officeholders. Through this effort, AGC PAC advances the legislative priorities of the construction industry by helping to elect the candidates most likely to support those priorities.

Congratulations to the CAWP Board of Governors, and special thanks to Board member John McCaskie for his efforts in leading the contribution drive each year.
