Boulevard of the Allies Project Wins AASHTO Award

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Boulevard of the Allies Bridge Project, built by CAWP Contractor Member Joseph B. Fay Company, recently received recognition from AASHTO, AAA and U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The project received America’s Transportation Award for Innovative Management. The winning projects were announced at the Northeast Association of State Transportation Officials annual meeting in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Boulevard of the Allies project involved the replacement of a severely deteriorated bridge and ramps at the intersection of the Boulevard of the Allies with Forbes Avenue and Fifth Avenue. The project was recognized for bringing together the City of Pittsburgh, community development groups, and public agencies to design a project that would benefit the region both functionally and aesthetically.
