RE:            DOT Safety Compliance Seminar for Drivers

CAWP is presenting a DOT Safety Compliance Seminar for Drivers of commercial motor vehicles.  This seminar will benefit drivers of CMVs (over 10,001 pounds) by providing information on current DOT safety compliance issues, a new initiative titled the CSA 2010, and what to be prepared for during a PA State Police Motor Carrier roadside inspection.

LOCATION:    Cranberry Township Public Works Operations Facility, Cranberry Township, PA
AGENDA:
8:00 am – 10:00 am        Presented by Jay Muratore, Motor Carrier Compliance and Safety
-  Driver responsibilities mandated by Federal and State regulations (covering Commercial Motor Vehicles)
-  Driver documentation requirements (logbooks and timesheets)
-  New initiative CSA 2010 – Learn about the new and significantly changed method of evaluating and enforcing the motor carrier safety regulations

10:15 am – 12:30 pm       Presented by PA State Police - Motor Carrier Enforcement Division
-  Current enforcement issues in western PA (types of problems the Officers are seeing)
-  Mock roadside inspection of low boy & tri-axle (demonstration of what to expect when stopped by Enforcement Officers).  This demonstration will include pre-trip inspection requirements, load securement, necessary safety equipment, etc.
-  Informative question and answer session
