CAWP to Participate in Work Zone Awareness Week April 19-23
The eleventh annual National Work Zone Awareness Week will be held April 19-23, 2010. The National Work Zone Awareness Week was started by the Federal Highway Administration in 2000, and is supported by a large network of government and industry partners.
The focus of the national campaign is to highlight the dangers to workers and motorists when driving through construction work zones.
The Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania put together a billboard campaign comprised of children’s artwork stressing the importance of workzone safety.
CAWP is asking contractors to help increase public awareness by placing Variable Message Signs (VMS) along roadways alerting motorists to this important worker/public safety issue.
The message provided for this year’s campaign is as follows:
First Flash:
Second Flash:

Deserve Safety

CAWP will recognize contractors who participate by utilizing the photographs on the CAWP website.
