Changes Made to COVID-19 Critical Infrastructure Sector Response Planning

On November 16, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) updated their recommendations on Critical Infrastructure Workers (Construction).  The CDC clarified that reintegrating exposed critical infrastructure workers who are not experiencing any symptoms and have not tested positive back into onsite operations should be used as a last resort and only in limited circumstances, such as when cessation of operation of a facility may cause serious harm or danger to public health or safety.

Previously the CDC had advised that critical infrastructure workers were to be permitted to continue work following potential exposure to COVID-19, provided they remain asymptomatic and additional precautions are implemented to protect them and the community.
