Ali Mills, EVP of Plum Contracting, CAWP Board member, and CAWP Executive Committee member, traveled to the White House on Tuesday, April 28 to discuss the impact the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) has had on her company.

On the afternoon of Friday, April 24, the Association received a call from the AGC of America asking if CAWP had any members interested in discussing the federal loan program enacted by the CAREs Act with a representative of the White House.  The Association submitted several success stories and Plum Contracting’s submission was selected to move forward. After a whirlwind weekend of several calls and exchanges of information, Ali received notice on April 26 that she had been officially invited to meet with President Trump and to participate in a press conference discussing the PPP.

In the lead up to her trip, Ali also participated in a podcast with AGC’s Leah Pilconis where she shared her story, and discussed the opportunity she had to meet with the President.

On Tuesday, April 28, Ali was part of a select group of small business representatives who met with President Trump, Ivanka Trump, Steve Mnuchin, US Secretary of the Treasury and Jovita Carranza, Small Business Administration Administrator, to discuss the enormous impact the PPP loans had on their businesses, in both the short term and long term. She was also invited to participate in a press conference with this elite group and presented her story in front of members of the press, as well as a large streaming audience.

Thank you, Ali, for sharing your story and for representing the CAWP and AGC memberships at the national level.
