On December 15, 2020, the Pittsburgh area office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) extended by five years its alliance with the Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania.  The alliance is dedicated to protecting workers in the heavy and highway construction industry from injuries, illnesses and fatalities.

Created in 2005, the alliance has worked to minimize worker fatalities in roadway work zones, facilitated industry safety weeks, and contributed to the development of documents and training courses to prevent falls and other construction safety hazards.

OSHA & Industry Safety Campaigns

As part of CAWP’s Alliance with OSHA, we promote annual safety campaigns to raise awareness on a variety of hazards in the construction industry.  These campaigns include Safety Stand Down, Trench Safety Awareness, Work Zone Awareness Week and many more.  We encourage you to provide feedback which will assist us in promoting future safety efforts and evaluating our impact in the construction industry.  All voluntary feedback may be sent to OSHA’s Pittsburgh Area Office, in care of Bob Carroll, Compliance Assistance Specialist at carroll.bob@dol.gov.
